When creating test tones using software like NCH Tone Generator what variable amplitude should they be set to. I noticed that the sine wave test tones on the Bink's audio test tones are described such as...
11 16 -1dB 30s
12 20 -1dB 30s
13 25 -1dB 30s
14 31.5 -1dB 30s
What is the purpose of setting a variable amplitude for each tone recorded?
Hi all,
I'm new to the postings and had a question - has anyone out there bought/reviewed the new Simaudio I-5.3, Simaudio I-7, or the Marantz PM-11S1? I'm looking for a solid state integrated amp in that price range, and have heard rumors that these models are excellent. However, I haven't been able to find much out there in terms of articles or owner feedback.
If you have familiarity with these products, I'd appreciate any opinions & experiences.
Thanks in advance,
Bill
Hello all,
I've been wondering how feasible it would be to use my cheap Pioneer DVD player as a transport. Of course, it has the digital out but does that digital out include the hi-rez formats also? And are there affordable DACs that handle SACD and DVD-Audio as well as "redbook" CDs?
These may be stupid questions but I'm new to hi-rez digital formats.
BTW, The player sounds pretty good with the hi-rez stuff but I find that it makes a bad CD player. Sounds thin on 16/44 PCM. Even if I hook a DAC up to it for 16/44 PCM I would be happy.
It's that time again. August 4th is Louis Armstrong's real birthday (July 4th was once believed to be his birthday but now August 4th is the accepted date) and WKCR-FM 89.9 FM in NYC is featuring Pops' music for 24 hours on 8/4.
But don't worry if you're not in NYC because you can listen to the broadcast on the web at:
WKCR-FM
It's available as either a Real Audio or an MP3 Stream, take your pick.
So listen and enjoy the great Louie on his birthday!!
