Pardon me, this may technically be "fusion," but...

Aloha,

I have to work at the computer sometimes and I like to use my time imprisoned in front of the monitor to spin one disc for several hours to let it seep into my brain and see how my view of it changes.

So, I been spinning Hugh Masakela's "Hope" for a couple days straight and I really like it.

I'd call it something more like South African Fusion that straight jazz, but it's got some good stuff.

If you give it a listen, I finally found a disc where if I say, "lilting melodies," it would seem an acceptable use of the term.

Does Halcro DM38 incorporate Design Improvements featured in DM88?

I read the Stereophile DM88 article with interest, especially the discussion on the upgrades made to the 1st generation Halcro design.

I am in the market for a DM38. In response to my query, Halcro suggested that the DM38 features design refinements that go beyond the DM58/68, refinements that have recently been implemented in the DM78/88. They stopped short of saying that the DM38 has all of the design upgrades featured in the DM78/88.

Thursday, August 10

I'll have to check with JA to be sure (he remembers these things better than anyone), but I think it was Thursday, August 10, 2000 — exactly six years ago — that I first sat down in front of a computer screen for Stereophile.
