Just getting back into my vinyl collection. Bought a Sumiko Blackbird cartride and had it mounted. Less than 10 hours on it. The cantelever is not perpendicular to the cartridge body. It is about 20 degrees offset to the right. I don't know how it got that way. Cartridge sounds pretty good though.
My question since I am a neophyte- Will this damage my records or do I need to replace this cartridge?
Any advice is appreciated.
I have had a set of GNP 220 loudspeakers (a step below the Valkyries, circa 1984 Pasadena) for 22 years and they still sound good to me. However, I'm married with children now and I need to do something non-floorstanding (bookshelf?). Can anyone recommend a great set of speakers that can be put up on shelves or wall space? My budget is around $1,000, but I can always save up if necessary to get something really good.

Many years ago in 1985 to be exact I thought since I am in college I need to get me a really good stereo to keep me company while I missed being at home. I thought I would start at a high end audio establishment just to see if I could find something in my price range considering I had worked the following summer at a good job and made more money than I have ever made probably in all my previous jobs combined. Well this particular store carried Harman Kardon and I thought to myself where is the Sony, Pioneer, etc, you know brands that are mass produced and that I was familiar with.
