Hola,
I want to fire up some old gear that's been lying fallow in dry storage for a long time; anywhere from 13 to 20 years.
I've heard people talk about "reforming" capacitors with a thing called a Variac which, apparently, can be used to slowly bring line voltage up over time in order to properly "reform" capacitors, so they work like they used to.
Ethan Winer might be a crusty old woody at times, but his heart is musically true. Ray Kimber sent me this link to a Google Video in which Ethan plays all 37 parts to a piece he wrote for cello: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6627904867875032821.

While tr-arranging the furniture in my listening room,i've decided to play arround with speaker positioning. One of the last places i would consider placing the speakers proved to be a good match soundwise. After further expirementation, i found out that the system plays much better if i reverse the channels ie output from the amp's left channel goes to speaker's right channel. Is there any drawback in doing so ? Mind you , i am not using those speakers for watching movies.
I came across a site that offers NAD factory refurbs with a one-year mftr's warranty. BAsically 30% off of list.
Would you go for it? Seems like a no-brainer to me, but I'm not an expert (yet).
Any input is greatly appreciated.
Chris
