I enjoyed reading the responses to my last post so much I thought I'd throw another observation into the mix.
In my history of searching for AudioHeaven I have occasionally been struck by a phenomenon. The Jaw Clench. Usually accompanied by a phone call to a friend, smoking too much, and re-packaging of components, followed by another trip to the local supplier of esoterica and understanding.
Hi everyone, I'm looking to find a new phono preamp for my audio system. I would like to spend around $400.00 to $500.00 bucks. My present system consist of a Belles 21a preamp, Belles hotrod power amp, VPI scout with a cheap shure cartridge for the time being, ( I'm in the process of up grading ) I also have the Von Schwiekert VR-1's with an older NHT sub. The short list of runner up's are Musical Fidelity X-LPS v3 or the Jolida JD 9a, I'm not sure if tubes are the way to go with the Jolida or solid state with the Musical Fidelity.
