Just Like the Good Old Days

The 10th annual The Home Entertainment Show (T.H.E. Show), which will run January 7–10, 2008, concurrent with the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), has expanded its exhibit space to include both the completely renovated Alexis Park Resort Hotel and its neighbor, the St. Tropez Hotel. By using both venues, T.H.E. Show, in effect, throws down the gauntlet to CES, which last year abandoned its traditional high-end audio home at the Alexis Park and moved High-Performance Audio to the Venetian Hotel.

What? No July section

so I got my July issue early last week in fact. Tell me why if pages are in short supply, is it wasted on things from Malaysia? a box with a vol control and some transformers? And of course this thing was just so wonderful. YET, you guys never want to review some stuff from teh heartland MN. Soem real american made sonic marvels. Amazing how you can find this obscure uselsess stuff, while ignoring some things from right here in MN. When are you gonna review some VanAlstine stuff already? Enough with teh absurditys like $400 wooden boxes with a vol control.

Newbie seeking advice

Has been years since I invested any time or money in a system and am basically starting from scratch. I have settled on a pair of Paradigm S4 speakers and am leaning towards a NAD C372 Amp. I would welcome feedback/suggestions on this combination and suggestions for CD. I have an old B&O turntable that I plan on resurecting as well. Be gentle as I am not the most sophisticated buyer. Appreciate your input. BTW the system is at least for now intended as a dedicated stereo only in a medium sized living room.

Which Integrated Amp Technology? Tripath vs. IcePower vs Tube Hybrid

Forums

I am thoroughly confused about which type of amp to choose for my desktop audio system. I will be adding a DAC and speakers to connect to my Mac to play lossless files in my home office.

I have been looking at the Kingrex Tripath Amp. I also found a few IcePower amps like the D-sonic and another from Denmark. Finally, I have been eyeing the Jolida 1301 as a hybrid tube/solid state device.
