Reading the Polls

Reading the Polls

According to an AP poll, one out of every four Americans hasn't read a single book in the last year. Okay, maybe I can believe that, but whenever I read articles like this, they inevitably include some guy (and yes, it is always a guy) who says something like, "I just don't have time for fiction, when I read I want to learn something."

Connecting sub

Forums

Hi, I just bought an insignia reciever from best buy. I've got all the speakers setup and it all sounds great. Quite a step up from my old stereo with 2 channel output, now i got 5.1 , but anyways, I was wondering how or even if i could connect this sub i have. It's actually meant for a car, but I thought maybe there would be a way I could use it for my room because I don't have an amp for my car, so the sub is just sittin' there. The sub has the red and black connection slot.

1) Ya know that ad for B&W speakers where they show the dimpled port flare?

Here...

What would it do for the sound of a horn if the actual horn itself was dimpled like that?

Soviet Poster a Day

Soviet Poster a Day

Alexander Zakharov posts, well, a Soviet poster every day. Best of all, he provides a lot of useful historical and artistic context for them. I've always been fascinated by the visual bravura of these posters, now I get to discover the "hidden" meaning to them, which, of course, weren't hidden to the proletariat .
