DTS playback on two-channel rig: worth the investment?

Alright, so, I recently bought an Oppo universal digital player for use with my stereo. One of my favorite albums, Sting's "Ten Summoner's Tales", is available in hi-res, but only in the DTS 5.1 surround format. I've enjoyed the CD for years, but I'm curious if there is a superior sonic experience of which I could take advantage.

Sonny Meets Roy!

Sonny Meets Roy!

I reviewed Sonny Rollins’ Carnegie Hall concert last Tuesday for the New York Times. Short version: The first half, when Rollins played in trio with drummer Roy Haynes and bassist Christian McBride, was wondrous; the second half, with his usual sextet, had its moments but was comparatively a drag. I only hinted at this in the review, but the concert typified the puzzle that is Rollins’ career: why, in the past 40 of its 50-plus years, has this titan of the tenor saxophone—the most inventive living improviser in jazz—chosen to play so often with musicians so clearly beneath him?

in-celing speaker connection

We started a small business recently and installed 5 in-ceiling speaker (8ohm). The speakers are spread across the length of the hall (not in a single room). I did a lot of research, but still couldn't figure out how to connect them. All I want is play music from a CD player/IPOD on all those speakers. Can some one help me with

1) What equipment I need. Like Amplifiers

2) Connections. I got individual wires from each speaker to a central location. Can I connect them to the amplifier direclty or do I need another impedence matcher like Phoenix Gold ...

thanks

high - res downloads

Since this issue is entry level for me, I thought I would post my question here. In looking for the next level in high resolution digital soources to augment my CD based system, I came across the Cambridge Azure 640H music server. It contains a 160 Gb hard drive capable of storing 3K uncompressed selections.
I have never before heard or read anything about this type of unit . Are there high-res music sources out there that I can access with this type of server and pay for SACD and DVD-A downloads, or are we not there yet ?
