PC based Music System

I want to build a PC based server to add to my system. My question is what are the recommended processor speed and RAM requirements? I have heard that there are some good ripping programs. Are there any specs to watch for when selecting Hard Drives? What about sound card selection? I use PC's every day in my job, but using them for sound is all relatively new to me. I have a pretty good DAC, and am at the point of buying a new PC.

Where to go listen to audio gear in Dallas, TX?

I'd like to go see some turntables, amps, and speakers and listen to them in Dallas, especially the North Dallas, Plano, Richardson area, as that would be most convenient for me. I really would like to deal with a store that takes analog audio seriously and that has knowledgeable staff who are willing to help me work within my means.

I've been an avid reader for a while. I seemed to be aligned in my tastes somewhere in between Sam and Robert. Therefore, could either of you provide advice on speakers to complement my Quad 99-CDP2/Quad 909 system in a relatively small 12x13 listening space? Budget is up to $4k. I currently have Triangle Celius Esw's connected to the Quad combo, but in a much larger space.

Thanks

My congregation! Ladies and Gentlemen! I tell you, there is a Pod! Some heathens choose to ignore him and burn for all eternity in the depths of hell, while Air Supply plays a continual concert of doom. Others have seen the light, and they opt instead for superior listening experiences.

I say, for the hi-fi community, there is hope. When I came to Stereophile, the first assignment Mr. Mejias gave me was to assess how I, as a young person, felt about the world of hi-fi. When my official term of Summer Intern was over, I had nothing. Well, I had a lot of stuff in my head, but nothing that I was ready to post on the blog. There was so much pressure. What had I learned here at Stereophile?!?!

So much.
