It's been several decades now since the tube <I>vs</I> solid-state debate began, with no end in site. Now we have some digital (PWM or class-D) contenders. What technology is your main amplifier? What brand and model is it and why did you choose it?
Hi, I'm both new to the forum and vinyl, and I'm looking to get my first turntable system. I'm trying to stay under $300-400, and I realize that it won't buy me the nicest system, but I just want something small for personal use in my dorm room. I'm really interested in these USB turntables (I have a number of LPs I would like to turn digital), but my concern is none of them have headphone jacks listed under features. Is it safe to assume they have one? Here are the models I'm looking at:

I've been gifted with two 3' high Bose 10.2 floorstanders, and I would like to hook them up to my PC's sound card.
I've learned that this is possible by acquiring an amplifier which has PC-like inputs. I have no idea how to go about buying this amplifier.
Here's what I know:
The Bose 10.2 floorstanders have an impedance of 4 ohms. Means nothing to me though.
Wattage is not listed on the metal stamp of the 10.2 speakers.
