I think I've narrowed the integrated amp questions down: Creek 5xxx or Atoll IN 100? Of course, I've heard nothing but great things about the Creek, but almost none about Atoll. Seems like people who love the Atoll sound swear by it, but many seem unimpressed. I listen mainly to classical (a lot of early music & contemporary) + jazz & indie.
The speakers will be Infinity P162s. The source: Oppo, until I can afford the Rega Apollo.
P.S. If you can also comment on whether I'll do fine w/ Creek 4xxx, pls let me know. Also, I'm curious about Rega Mira. But I am THIS close on my 1st system. Thanks, as always. You guys have been the best.
P.P.S. - I'm also planning to buy the AKG 701 & don't want to spend the $ on headphone amps. Both Creek & Atoll have the headphone amps... are they adequate? Strangely, in the head-fi forums, a lot of them are going NUTS about the headphone amps in the Harman Kardon 3480 receivers! Makes me doubt, as one of my 1st choices for my apt. set up was the HK 3485...
