Hello all, Ive got one long or several short questions. Im entirely new to all this fancy stereo stuff. Any way, Ive just bought a Technics SL-1310 for $20, but it has no stylus (sp?) Anyway, Im Looking to purchace a receiver and some speakers which would allow me to truly enjoy my vinyls. Right now Im using some Klipsch computer speakers plugged into a Newmarc portable table, and its just not cutting it. Id be happy to spend $400 on a reveiver and another 400 on speakers But I dont know what I should look for.
I have inherited a Mark Levinson cartridge I'm trying to identify. It was described as the Signature cartridge and was a gift from Mark to a friend of his.
It looks like the MLC-1 photos I see at the google cached version of marklev.com. Round, black with a white alignment line on the front. Mark Levinson logo embossed on the bottom. No model number, just the word Japan and the number 0280 (looks like crude handstamp) on the top. Were they all sold without a model number anywhere on the body?
Anyone out there have info on this little curiosity?
Hola,
I'm working on my writing assignment for Mr. Marks' 'Fifth Element' project, but I am flummoxed.
One the one hand, are we supposed to write about songs with well crafted stories, with a beginning, a middle, and an end; have a point of view, an authorial tone (an attitude toward their subject matter,) and, for lack of a better word, a philosphy?
Or, are we supposed to be writing about songs or the rock era that we think could hold up to being sung a capella by the Ensemble Amarcord during a mixed program of classical and popular works?
Or both?
