ok, so heres the deal. I have just managed to get a gemini gt-1002 speaker off a friend of mine so i got it home and realized there was no wall plug so i plugged in my mp3 player anyway and it was really quiet, then i ripped apart this other speaker and plugged it into it so now the gemini gt-1002 works and gets pretty loud but the bass even when i turn it all the way up really isn't all that great. i really love feeling the bass when i'm listening in my miniscule 10 by 10 room. so what i guess i'm really asking is how can i get that floor rattling bass in my little room affordably.
I'm comparing specs of NAD 315 (integrated) & Pro-Ject Pre Box and Amp Box separates. Do I care that NAD specs Input impedance (R & C) at 50k?/100pF where Pro-Ject specs input impedance at 20kohms.
NAD specs Total Harmonic Distortion at <0.02 while Pre Box specs THD at 0.001 but the companion Pro-ject Amp Box specs THD at <0.05 at 10W. Is NAD's <0.02 meaningful without a watts parameter.
Preliminary, limited review --
I haven't even taken delivery of my Continuum 500 integrated amplifier yet, but I got to listen for 3-hours this afternoon to help with the decision to put down $8,800 to take it home.

I'm looking for an SACD/CD player for my 2.1 channel system. Does anyone have any experience with the Parasound D200 universal player's audio quality via analog outputs? And if so, have you compared it to the Marantz SA8001? Redbook CD quality would be the most important issue for me; right now, I have a Marantz CD-67 SE II, and I think I could improve on it for a reasonable price. Your advice is appreciated!
