Now, this special oil is for tight tolerances, provides lubrication...hmmmm, the stuff that is $6 or $1.25/QT is designed for what? Hmmm hot engines, severe stress, all kinds of conditions, $65 for 25CC, what won't an audiophile not beleive? Bentleys, Audi, VW, BMW, Bugatti ain't got oils this pricey!!!! We need an audio review, compare the $100K TT at MF's house using this oil and the cheap stuff that goes into pricey cars.
Hello stereophiles,
Here is my situation, and hopefully you guys can help me.
I just bought a condo (1st floor and basement) that had just been renovated by a... lets call him Silly Party Person (SPP). What SPP did, is that he set up 4 speaker wires in the condo that all lead to a corner of the living room. The location of those are: Two in the kitchen/living room/dining room area (it's an open concept condo), one in the bathroom, and one in my son's room.
Okay, so NIN had their moment in the 90s. I'm not so fond of their music now, but what can I say when the band offers its complete new album THE SLIP, completely for free! (Trent Reznor's message on the site was something like, thanks for the support guys, this one's on me.) Best of all? You can choose to download in FLAC, Lossless, or 24/96!!!
Hi all
First of all, thanks for creating this section for newbies
I'm looking for a recommendation for a new budget integrated amplifier to pair with my Paradigm Mini Monitor speakers (I will be upgrading my (low end) sources -- lp, cd, tape, ipod -- incrementally)
Parameters:
- Roughly $500 or so
- Must have a phono section (NAD, Cambridge Audio won't do)
- Does not need to be high power; 30W@8Ohms is probably adequate for me
I'm fairly new to Jazz music. My new speakers are coming this week and I would like to play some really good Jazz CDs on them (musically and sound-wise). I only own 4 Jazz CDs...Steve Kuhn Trio - Live at Birdland, Miles Davis - Kind of Blue, Playboy Jazz: Love Songs After Dark, & John Coltrane - A Love Supreme. I love them all EXCEPT Coltrane's A Love Supreme (boy, is that CD overrated!). Any suggestions?
Hello Guys,
First post, and I'm hoping to get advice from the experts. I've always been horrified at the cost of audiophile tube receivers, and was wondering if it is worth it to build one from a kit. (I've built a tube guitar amplifier already, and had a great time).
A few questions:
1) Are there any quality amp kits that you recommend?
2) I notice that the frequency response of most tube kits is very low. Is this something inherent to tube amps, or just cheap kits?
3) Is this a worthy venture, or should I just splurge for a good solid-state receiver?
Some people complain that the "Vote" questions aren't serious enough. Okay, what would you like to find out about the magazine's readers? Give us your suggestion for a Stereophile poll.
DUP, it can also be said that real musicians don't play the Lion's Den.
