So I am at college and need to start paying for music now, so I figured that I should probably get a sound system worthy of playing my music. I can't spend more than $1000 on everything and don't 'want' to spend more than $500. I plan on buying most things on ebay and on craigslist. I don't have transportation so I can't really cruise the garage sales or test equipment at audio shops. I just need some proper equipment that I won't be sorry with and will work well for the money I have. So far from the research I've done I've come up with this.

Hello everyone!
I'm so excited about this journey I've decided to undertake. I love music. Absolutely love it. It moves me to my very core, and I simply can't get enough of it. Unfortunately, I can only listen to it four ways right now, all of which suck:
1) Via my car stereo (a stock Bose system in my 2004 Mazda 6 wagon)
2) Via my PC with a SoundBlaster X-Fi Platinum wich plays my song library on iTunes through my Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 system
3) Via the same computer (above) through a pair of Sennheiser HD 555's.
Why all this wasted pages on 78's? When asked to do a review of CURRENT products, there is no space, but why the useless writings of 78's? Let's keep going backwards, I bet some reviewer is gonna say, wow, there is something off those 78's that just can't be had off of 33 1/3 vinyl, shellac brittle 78's have a certain magic, and when compared to modern digital, 78's really hold their own. I think the magazine is going insane? Enough of wasted space on crap 78's is this Antique Records magazine? Wow, look how fast they spin, something the youth of today missed out on, right?
