ProAc Response D28 loudspeaker Specifications

Has any modern designer of high-performance speakers extracted more music from a two-way box than ProAc's Stewart Tyler? His early-1990s stand-mounted Response 2 (later upgraded to the Response 2S) was an instant classic, and while his tiny Tablette</A> proved controversial for being bass-shy and relatively pricey, his track record of two-way speakers remains unassailable.

Is it real or just my imagination?

I have not been much of a TV watcher in the past, but recently bought a large flat screen TV and got HD satellite service. After spending a bit of time watching and not listening, I started listening to the stereo again. It didn't sound right to me so I got out the pink noise generator and the spec A and checked the response. A bit off, so I corrected. Still doesn't sound right.
Is it my imagination or does the large flat screen create a new front surface reflection that combines with the rear wall?

Not quite low wattage amplifiers

I'm looking to power a couple Wharfedale Diamond 9.1 speakers. It doesn't sound like Sonic Impact's T-Amp would have enough power, but I can't seem to find anything with just a little more power. Is there anything comparable to the T-Amp, but with a bit more power? I only have 100 bucks to spend, but if there's something more expensive but popular I figure I might have some luck on eBay.

Headphones

I've noticed that a lot of the entry-level speakers don't go down to 20Hz, but most headphones do. Does this mean that a decent pair of entry-level headphones is going to provide better audio than an entry level stereo system?
