Hi,
This is bugging me:
Let's say you are the chief investigator in a drug operation. You have wire taps approved by the court, and you find a suspect who is setting up a drug deal with a buyer...they've talked about it on the phone and you have tapes...so you move in and arrest the dealer before the drugs are in place and the buyer has handed over the money and taken possession of the drugs.
You get no drugs and all you've got is two guys talking about a deal.
Premature edjudication?

I read that loudspeakers have 2% distortion at average listening levels. TWO PERCENT !! Power amps often have .01% distortion.
Why isn't Stereophile telling us this ?! And why aren't more designers building compression-driver based horns to overcome this ugly fact ? Are they *satisfied* with 2% distortion ??

My Ortofon MC20 Mk.II Super is a few years old now, maybe more, and even though it still sounds fine I've begun to wonder and worry about the condition of its stylus. I don't play records as often as I used to, since most of my newer recordings are digital, and I really have no idea how many hours of playing time it's seen. To add to my quandary I use Last and Stylast religiously. This is said to increase stylus life by up to ten times. Also, the Fritz Geiger 80 stylus itself has a large "footprint" which will reduce pressure and therefore wear.

Felice Navidad, y'all.
This week is Ben Webster week at Casa Buddha de la Temoporario Chico California, and it made me wa-wa-wonder...
Who's you absoulte favorite sax player?
For me, it is Gentle Ben, Ben Webster.
Playing the Dig Ben Storyville release each night this week, and digging His Smoothness.
Mrs. Buddha is a staunch Coltraner, bar none. She's played the Coltrane and Monk disc more than I have.
