How much of the music you acquire is in the form of downloads, either low- and/or high-resolution?

There are dozens of CD- or higher-resolution download sites now online. Which begs the question: How much of the music you acquire is in the form of downloads, either low- and/or high-resolution?

Best Wiring Srategy for Monitor/Sub Stereo Listening

What is the best method of wiring monitor speakers and a subwoofer setup purely for stereo music listening? I have Canton Karat L 100 monitors on stands and a Martin Logan Depth subwoofer in a large open listening room. The Depth has line level R/L Input/outputs, LFE in/Sub out and speaker level inputs but no speaker level outputs. I could run the Canton

Bookshelf vs Floorstanding

Hi!

I went to some places because I am looking to upgrade my audio system some time soon. Right now, I am looking at a Rotel integrated amplifier (RA-1062), delivering 60 watts per channel using 8 ohms, to use with my Rotel RCD-1072 CD player. At some place I went, a guy told me I should look for Bookshelf rather than Floorstanding speaker with that kind of amplification. I was wondering if anybody could give me some advice.

Thank you

Record Clamp recommendations for Denon DP-47F

Hello All,
I haven't visited this forum in a while. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a Record Clamp for my beloved Denon DP-47F.
I trying to find a record clamp that fits the following criteria: a)Won't strain my turntables motor, b)Allows me to close the dust cover and c)Won't cost me a fortune(It's tough being an audiophile on a tight budget).
If anyone has some suggestions I would be glad to entertain them.

Many thanks;

Modding Crossover In Energy 2.3 speakers

I was wondering What peoples opinions are on uprading the Caps, wiring and resitors In these speakers. I was speaking to one of these Modding guru's and I was told that I could upgrade my caps. My question is dont you have to know a little about the drivers to keep a balance. My fear Is that my speakers will become too bright. The caps that were suggested are V-caps. Does anyone know anything about these caps?

Here it is in a nutshell: Price vs. quality

This weekend a friend of mine called me for advice. It seems he is ready to make the move to high end audio but looking through Stereophile and going to two audio dealers convinced him that he was going to have to spend more than $15,000 to get a "decent" system to which he said "I am not in a position to spend that kind of money right now".

<A HREF="http://www.stereophile.com/powerlineaccessories/ps_audio_power_plant_pr… Audio's Power Plant Premier is a high-end product that takes the regeneration approach in providing audio/video gear with the cleanest AC possible. But not everyone can afford to spend $2195 on such a product, and although the new amplifier design that forms the basis of the Premier is relatively efficient, it does use power, and concern about conservation of the planet's energy resources might lead one to prefer a passive approach to power-line treatment. PS Audio's line of Power Centers provides such an alternative. The model I had for review was the Quintet Power Center, which differs from the Duet Power Center only in having five pairs of receptacles to the Duet's two.

Revel's Ultima Salon2

I can safely post this one as I won't have to edit it:

The Salon2s are a cosmetic downgrade from the Salon1s. The Hansens are the new Revel Ultimas!

The Revel first series had a beautiful and immediately recognizable design that they should have been able to improved upon. Instead, now, we have those ugly speakers. I don't care if they sound better.
