how could they create records from DSD masters? and what is direct metal stamping, Fremer?

Thanks to all who advised on set up and speakers, absolutely loving the Swan Diva 6.2 I upgraded them from the 5.1, much, much better for music, lots more bass without being too much. Is it worth bi-wiring?

Lost Masters

I'd like a show of hands from Stereophile forum members to see how many here consider the following to be high fidelity. I'd also like to know how many people believe they would be satisfied with the following as their main stereo system.

It seems mc cartridges are the vast majority of cartridges reviewed/recommended these days but it wasn't always so. I suspect the cost difference has a big part to do with it (the usually true axiom, you get what you pay for), but is there any objective information as to the differences in why one would be better than the other? Better frequency response and that kind of thing.
