Ok here we go.
I am totaly new to Hifi, but i have always loved music and now it is time to step up from my Logitech Z4's.
I have a lot of Flac format musik, and i would love to get a system with my PC as the source with good sound quality way beyond what logitech or other computerspeaker brands can deliver.
I have looked alot but its hard to get an overview over the whole market and what to look for and what not.
The first things i stumbled upon where:
...something in the works. Any ideas??
I use the Monster Cable Z2 bi-wire for my speakers and this system allows you to have a variety of connections via Monster Lock. I recently moved from Banana clips to spades as I didn't want the connections to my amp and speakers to keep coming out when I moved equipment. I was just wondering: what do you use in both speaker cable and connections and what has been your experience with speaker cables overall ?
Was wondering if anyone here had any experience with this company.
I decided to buy a new stylus for the old Ortofon M20FL Super that I had and after researching prices online I came across this company in Japan. I ordered a new stylus at about 1/2 the price of a NOS on eBay and received the stylus today. It took about 5 days from time I ordered to receive it.
Installed the stylus tonight and am pretty amazed at how nice it sounds on my Marantz.
Recently I stopped into a local shop to look through some old LPs, thinking I might just find something interesting. Once I dug into the pile of old vinyl, I realized that pretty much everything there was trashed and only priced by title and not condition. I was amazed that some albums were marked at 2 to 5 dollars and were in very nice shape and ones that looked like they were used for buggie boards on a dry carpet were marked at crazy 15 and 20 dollar prices.
I took a chance and spent a whole 12 dollars and returned home with 3 LPs.
Hello, it's been a while since I have posted, so I think I should recap my situation. I have a Thorens TD166 MkII (with a signet 7lga cartridge, i think it might be a pos, can't find any info online) record player that I am playing through my computer with a Rolls VP29 Phono-pre. I do not own anything else for a system. I think I have finally decided on speakers though, the Vandersteen 2C's. I have heard so many glowing reviews of the speakers, and as I live in the Bay Area, I often see them for sale on craigslist.
I know I'm asking a pretty simple question here, but my searches only seemed to turn up the opposite of what I'm looking for - a switch for multiple sets of speakers. I'm looking for a switch that will let me choose between one of two integrated amps into one set of speakers. So I need some advice.
I've got a Harman Kardon AV247 powering 2 B&W 683s and 2 Boston surrounds I got in college - I'm not really a home theater conoisseur. This setup does me fine. That said, I also listen to a lot of records.
