Just closing the "Visit to Mikey's" thread, Stephen, does not end the discussion and does not end controversy. It is already continuing under other threads.

Everything I need to know about Islam I learned on September 11, 2001.
Just another example.

Magneplanar has complimented the floor standing MMG with MMG W, on the wall (or fold-away?) and MMG C (center channel). Stereophile kept MMG in C restricted through 10/08 & dropped on basis of not having been reviewed of late.
Does the dropping of speaker on that basis mean anything?
Thanks,

I have had come into my possession an Empire 4000 XL III in need of a new stylus. I have located a replacement stylus, but before I lay down any coin I thought I would see if there is any opinion on this cartridge. I know that Empire has been around a long time and are makers of good equip. but I have never owned one myself and have no knowledge to draw on. Any input is appreciated.
so sometimes when i'm changing records there is a loud static "pop" that is sent to my speakers, usually when i touch the turntable or record. i try to remember to decrease the volume but don't always remember. i do use a demagnetizing brush on my records before playing them but i'm not getting a gun or anything like that.
i just want to know: is this static "pop" going to hurt the speakers, or anything else, if experienced occasionally?
