corner traps, how high do they need to be?

Hi Ethan

assume you (at least) will reply!!

Once I finish my speakers, I will be able to get around to room treatment, and prob the easiest to do in the corners are super chunks type absorbers.

BUT, my ceiling height is about 17 feet. BTW, tri corners are out for treatment (tho I mainly mean the ceiling, could imagine getting away with the floor).

OK, 17 foot ceilings (5.4 metres), no doubt it would be best to do the full height but am a bit reluctant for mainly aesthetic reasons.

What would be a good compromise for the height?

Toole's Book.

I've always thought that Floyd's work was fabulous.

But...(there's always a 'but')...when it comes to audiophiles, specifically those who design speakers....we tend to disagree, to some extent -with Floyd. Why? If the audiophiles have a case, where did Floyd's analysis 'fall down'? When it comes to the highest fidelity and audiophile listening.... where was the misstep?

Aragon and Acurus Revived

After four years of virtual inactivity, new and updated Aragon and Acurus high-end amplifiers, preamplifiers, and processors are slated to return to the marketplace. The long-established brands, which have been the property of Klipsch since 2001, are now in the hands of two enthusiastic veteran Klipsch electronics engineers, Rick Santiago and Ted Moore of Indy Audio Labs, LLC.

MP3 evaluation software

To evaluate the effect of MP3 conversion on an audio file, I would like to find software will produce a WAV file that is the difference between the best match between two sample WAV files.

If File1.WAV is the original, and is converted to File2.MP3 and then reconverted to File3.WAV, the difference between File1.WAV and File3.WAV (= file4.WAV) should reveal the sound lost (or added) in compression, provided that one can match the sync and levels appropriately.

It's likely that no two audiophiles would ever come up with identical lists of subjects, but I wouldn't be surprised if they could agree on at least one name: Nelson Pass.
