Finally having the time and, to a degree, money to venture into a serious(?) audio hobby I have been doing quite a bit of investigating of said equipment. I have owned the everyday stereo gear that was good for background/party entertaining but am now interetsted in the real thing.

During my reading of reviews of speakers I have come across the terms; coherent, timbre and imaging. Yes, I know the dictionary meaning of these words but would like to know how they apply to audio. I haven't had the time to go and audition any equipment and would like to know what the dealer is speaking of when he explains various items to me.

Can anyone recommend a book for someone new to the interest.

Thank.
