Sweet spot or am I tricking myself?

So my sweet spot is one foot in front of my speakers and right between them. What's up with that?

My speakers are in a 10 x 15 room and about 2 ft from the back wall, 2 ft from the side walls, which makes them about 6 ft apart from each other. I usually listen to music in my bed at the other end and it sounds really good. But the other day I sat in a chair right between my speakers and it sounded amazing. 3-d even. It sounded like the voice was right in front of me and there was surround sound. So I have two questions:

Old TV RFI

I have two audio systems in my home...one is 100% music and has the best stuff I can afford and the other is built around my video system, includes vinyl, and only has high end affectations in its above radio shack cable selections. This system had an ancient Sony WEGA 27" TV as the video source. Well, it has been dying for months and this week it went. We have house guests and they asked when I replaced the big old TV with a tiny 13" TV while waiting for the flat panel from Amazon.com, why the music was so much better. I hadn't noticed but it really was.

LAST Seeks New Ownership

The first chapter in the history of the LAST Factory, manufacturer of LAST Record Preservative for LPs, is coming to a close. After shepherding for 30 years the Livermore, California–based company he founded, LAST's president, Walter Davies, is retiring to devote his energies to still photography. With Jan and Ric Mancuso, of Trade Secrets Consulting, Davies is looking for a buyer to keep the company in operation.

Buying new floorstading speakers. Infinity, Boston, Polk, or Sony?

Im looking to set up my first 'listening room' on somewhat of a budget though.

I need some help deciding on my speakers. I'm looking at:
Infinity Primus P252
Boston Acoustics CS-226
Polk Audio Monitor 60
Sony SS-F7000

I'm most likely pairing these with a Pioneer VSX-519V-K

Which of these are my best bets or are there any other speakers and/or receivers I should be looking at?
