Steve Davis Quintet, Live at Smalls

Smalls is, well, a small jazz club in New York City’s West Village and, while far from the most comfortable establishment in town, it’s certainly among the most authentic and dedicated. Gramophone.net Equipment Reviews

A while back, I linked to the gramophone.net site where ALL of the magazine's past issues (back iinto 1920's!) are archived and PDF'd. This is obviously a boon for record collectors, etc., for checking out contemporary reviews of historical recordings...

But I've been discovering that Gramophone used to have a pretty active equipment reviews! Very fun to read & relatively thorough, especially compared to the 3-4 paragraphs they devote nowadays at the back, which are nothing more than adverts, really.
