I have ripped the tracks from the Eagles DVD-V "Hell freezes over", as 24/48 wav's, and was looking for a program to use in burning the tracks to a DVD-A.
Jim Tavegia says he uses Audio DVD Creator, but I have read in some forum that this program makes DVD-V's instead of DVD-A's.
No matter how I try to burn these tracks, I can't play them on my CD/DVD player. The computer plays them though. What am I doing wrong?
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated, as I would like to learn more about this. Thx

Perhaps of interest in the context of our past discussion of anthropogenic global warming.
As I have observed, whether people accept AGW is often a issue of their pre-existing world view and political beliefs. I find this odd and frankly disturbing.
On February 7, 2010 the Cultural Cognition Project at Yale released a research paper on exactly this subject.

As I am so priviledged to have a CDP that also plays DVD-Audio, I just started spinning the fabulous Eagles DVD "Hell freezes over". My goodness what a great sound! I have never heard drums sound like this from my system. Why I never thought of doing that before I don't know. I have only watched it in my el-cheapo DVD player connected to the TV. Of course it's not bad to have the footage too, but the sound is 1000% better on my system.
I gotta do this more often

Another excellent and very thorough review by JA.
I have one question:
In the review JA states how the original unit under review malfunctioned and how NAD shipped him a replacement unit. What would a a normal (i.e. paying) customer except from NAD or their dealer in the event a similar misfortune? And why wasn't NAD's and/or their dealers normal replacement/repair policy stated in the review since it would seem to be of importance especially in the case of a brand new $6,000 unit not working correctly?
Thanks

I enjoyed Michael Fremer's excellent review of the new Vnadersteen Model Seven loudspeakers but I do have few questions.
1) In the review Mr. Fremer tells how Richard Vandersteen came all from California to New Jersey to help Mr. Fremer set up the speakers. Exactly what is the amount of set up help a normal (i.e. paying) customer can expect from Vandersteen upon purchase of these rather expensive speakers? Will a minimum wage flunky from the dealer come to one's house or will Mr. Vandersteen himself magically appear?

For years I've used both LAST + Gruv Glide: the former followed by the latter. I spoke with both companies to make sure the chemistries were compatible -- they are. Some folks think LAST veils LP sonics. IAC, Gruv Glide (by itself) yields better sonics. Not surprising, I guess, as LAST's main purpose seems to be preservation and archiving. I also use Stylast.
What's your experience with these products, especially WRT their synergistic effect vs. stand-alone?
Where can I find high quality music

Hi everyone. I am in no way a hardcore audiophile in any way, but I recently bought Sennheiser cans and I want to see how good the quality on these things can get. All of my music is in MP3 format and most songs are about 7 Mb. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions on where to find better quality music or if what I already have is fine. I'm also listening on a Moto Droid for now since my iPod broke but I will be getting a new one soon so the format has to be supported by at least one of those devices. Thanks for the help!

I have had the record for almost 30 years, and never seem to get tired of it. Many great songs, and it is a fine recording too.
I posted earlier about which headphones to buy and which usb dac to get, right now I am just thinking of getting the CEntrance DACport and some headphones. Right now I listen through Bose Triport Headphones. I was deciding between Sennheiser HD600 / HD650 or the AKG K701/K702. My question is which headphones are better for Rock music.
Does anyone know any good reviews on the CEntrance DACport, too bad Stereophile.com didn't do a review.
