Do you have a specific method for optimizing speaker placement or do you guess and fiddle?
Do you feel you have developed skills for placing speakers in a room, or do you plunk them down, shuffle them around, and hope for the best?

Years ago, I used the Discwasher system to clean my vinyl on the turntable right before playing. Lately, I've been enjoying more vinyl and so I bought the new version of the Discwasher system. I've been using it but I recently read that the pad on the new version of the discwasher is not as good as the original version from years ago. Apparantly, from what I've read, the fibers don't have the directionality or strength to clean into the grooves as they did on the original.

JA publishes measurements of speaker performance with apparently good precision.
I am trying to recall if there have been any sets using different amplifiers or preamplifiers?
It would seem an obvious thing to do, but I don't recall any off the top of my head.
I'd be curious, everything else unchange and measured identically, what we might see?
Still, of course, also hoping for the same to be done with a new speaker and then again as it is broken in.

The April 29 edition of the Rolling Stone had a "State of Rock" feature with the "top 40 reasons to get excited about music."
Hi Fi featured prominently:
#5: More and more HD live concert recordings, including ease of access for hi rez recording by consumers.
Examples included Thom Yorke and Flea's concert in New York and Eddie Vedder's surprise collaboration with The Who in London.
Quality music and images that would never have been so well captured in the past.
#7: Improving concert sound quality.

Yogi says he has consumed neither food nor fluid for 70 years.
I am dubious, I never saw Yogi go even one episode without a pic-a-nic basket coming into play.
Maybe Boo Boo is sneaking him Scooby Snacks.
Any takers on this tale?
Has Anyone Ever Considered Financing A High End Audio Purchase
This is something I have always been curious about. In a world full of $15K-$150,000K audio dream components it wouldn't seem unreasonable to consider such an option but I don't personally know of anyone who has done it.
I'm not sure how many people out there have enough play cash sitting in their bank accountto be able to drop $15K-$25K on that set of dream speakers they always wanted. I'm sure it's doable for some folks if they saved their pennies for long enough but who wants to wait for a year or three once the audio bug has bitten again.

This is a very impressive guy.
Anyone who says he can't conduct is making an indefensible statement.
DeFacto, he can conduct. He obviously has the technique and musical education to competently perform his job.
Whether one likes his interpretations and his conducting style is a different matter. It is certainly defensible to say one doesn't like his conducting.
However , many do like him , including orchestra members. Orch. players usually love to hate their conductor so that is impressive too :-)
