ProAc speakers

Forums

I'm in the market for some new speakers and J.M.s' recent review of the ProAc Response D model peaked my interest...in ProAc, but a less expensive model. I been trying to find review of the Studio 110 or 130 models but other than a brief write up on the 110 there's nothing out there on this brand.

Is anyone familiar with any of their models? (There is a local dealer nearby but he only has one of the more expensive models for audition.)

Any opinion is greatly appreciated.

Hardware not software, for analog to digits

Hi, I've been putting vinyl to digits, primarily for usage in the car CD player, but I'm now thinking about consigning more LPs to digits, but the results I've been getting using a Griffin iMic between my Musical Fidelity amp and my DELL laptop (then burned to CD) are only so-so, I see a lot of posts of people getting music off their PC's not so much on putting it ON. Anyone with experience of hardware to take analogue to USB other than the Griffin iMic?
Thanks, Steve

Forums

Hello, I'm new to this forum although I have been following along for some time now. This is my first post here, and I knew that being an audio lover, yet not savvy yet with the audio language, that if any help would be received, it would be here. So first, I thank you all for this great community of audiophiles.

I owned the B&W CM9 until recently... My father gave me his set that he no longer needed because my parents moved to a new home and they did not feel like setting the whole place up acousticly again, at least for now. So we switched, he gave me his B&W 803D...

A Chance Encounter with Planet Waves

A Chance Encounter with Planet Waves

Since the transformation of my living room into a listening room, my record collection has been a woeful, helpless mess. Albums are grouped together more by my fleeting mood or by date of purchase than by anything usefully intelligible, or at all resembling order, such as genre or artist name. If, on some strange and rainy Saturday, I happened to have listened to albums by Mal Waldron, Crazy Horse, and Beach House, these albums will be found shelved together.

Remastered CD question

The Cure have just released a remastered version of their seminal album Disintegration.

Along with the CD, they have also offered a Vinyl version.

My question is, would the vinyl release use the same remastered source as the CD? Is a concurrent Vinyl reissue of a remastered release normally handled / processed differently?

(i'm waiting for the record to compare to the CD myself) : )
