So which of the "super" cd players you recently reviewed gets your foot tapping the most?

You guys have reviewed a bunch of super expensive cd players over the last couple of years. Which of them (other than Naim) gets your foot tapping the most? Is it the Boulder? Playback designs? My sense it is probably not the Meridian, and probably not the dCS. Or is it? Thx

Which Steely Dan albums do you own?

Since SD is one of my favourite bands (duo's actually) I'm interested in knowing which is your favourite album - if one is - and why. Which albums do you have?

Mine are:

Can't buy a thrill (CD)
Pretzel logic (CD)
Countdown to ecstacy (LP)
Katy lied (LP)
The royal scam (LP)
Aja (LP+CD)
Gaucho (LP+DVD-A)
The best of SD then and now (CD)

I think Gaucho is my favourite because there are so many great tracks on this album, but I love every single one of their records

Stupid Speaker repair question

these are my dads POS speakers... have a question.

as they havent been made for over 20 years parts are no longer
available based on the original part numbers, the Speakers are Technics SB-L52
they are 60 Watt output at 8 ohms.

Can I buy tweeters that are compatible at 60 watts and 8 ohms?

How is the speaker size measured?

Proofing the Buyer’s Guide

Proofing the Buyer’s Guide

At this point in the proofing process, we’re deep into the analog gear, which of course comprises my favorite section of the book. So, while the task can be tedious and draining, it’s fun to discover new products. Here are just a couple that have caught my eye:

Sometimes, a product review in Stereophile can breed additional reviews. Shortly after I reviewed the Audio Valve Conductor line stage in the <A HREF="http://www.stereophile.com/tubepreamps/audio_valve_conductor_preamplifi… 2009 issue (Vol.32 No.7), I was contacted by NAT's US distributor, Musical Sounds: "Hey, if you liked the Audio Valve Conductor [$13,995], you'll love the NAT Symmetrical line stage at $8000! Would you like to review it?" Aside from Michael Fremer's review of the battery-powered NAT Signature Phono stage in the July 2007 issue, I was unfamiliar with this Serbian maker of tube electronics. But "Sure," I replied; "why not?"
