I friend of mine who works in hifi has heard rumours AYRE are going to do a non-usb DAC. Does anyone know when this might appear ?

I'd love to have an AYRE dac but it it means i need to build or invest in yet another mini-computer and I don't see the point since I'm heavily invested into Squeezebox/server.

Friend mentioned Moon DAC as a good alternative. I've got a musical fidelity XDAC V-8 but have a feeling I could do better.

Solving a problem with my Wadia 2000 DAC

i need some help and i was wondering if someone experienced here can help... I have a Wadia CD Transport WT 2000 and a Wadia 2000 digital decoding computer (DAC) that sits nicely with it. Of late, I have had a problem with the Wadia DAC. Under the Command function, when the button is pressed, it moves from "standby" mode to the "initializing" mode, and thence to the "operational" mode. All good so far, but then the "red light" moves back to the "initializing mode" and as such i cant listen to any music.

Thirty years have not diminished the beauty and elegance of Oracle's Delphi turntable. In my opinion, it still ranks among the best-looking turntables ever made. I bought an original Mk.I, used, in 1982, and very positively reviewed the Delphi Mk.V in the December 1997 Stereophile.

In its three decades the Delphi has undergone many upgrades both technical and aesthetic. Not surprisingly, so has the price. The Mk.II Delphi sold for $1250 in 1986; the Delphi Mk.VI with Turbo power supply and dedicated power cord now sells for $8500, which, in today's market, I think is reasonable for what you get. The review sample came with an Oracle/SME 345 tonearm ($3100) and a Benz-Micro Thalia high-output MC cartridge ($1700), for a total cost of $13,300—or $11,600 for just 'table and arm.
