Hi all! I am new to this site. I am looking for info on a pre amp DAC combo made by Burmester Co. from Germany in the early 1990's. The model 870 II. I have heard their Pre amps are wonderful but what is this unit all about. Thanks Larry

Can someone please let me know which way is best for sound quality as far as using 2 main speakers with a subwoofer for music listening:
1) sending the signal to a subwoofer directly from the pre amp (subwoofers with RCA IN and OUT connections)where the crossover is set at say 80Htz and then the filtered signal sent to the amp (via RCA OUT)to feed the main speakers or,

For moi, there are three seminal songs:

1) Summer, by War. This would rank one through three, really. It's that iconic.

Ain't no summer song finer.

2) Two words: Mungo Jerry!

3) For some odd (most likely drug related) reason: Plastic Bertrand's "Ca Plan Pour Moi."

This tune is compressed, but it's very "clean" sounding.

No, it's not proper Hi-Fi, but it's a nice tune to play on the Hi-Fi.
