I've been a member of yourmusic.com [BMG] for a while now and I've bought quite a few CDs and even SACDs from them. All of the CDs seem to be of the same quality as what you would buy at a store but I've always wondered if they are as good. I know that some used CD shops won't even consider buying CDs with a "Manufactured for BMG" stamp on the back. Why is this? Are BMG club CDs inferior to music store CDs?
Has anyone ever replaced the motor suspension belt (NOT the drive belt) on a Rega Planar 2 turntable? Is it a tricky operation, or is it pretty straightforward?
On my Rega, as soon as I install the drive belt, the tension pulls the motor all the way over until it contacts the base, creating a small rumble problem. Do I assume correctly that replacing the motor suspension belt will fix this?
Thanks.
Well, I'm dealing w/ a crappy sound system (onboard a8n SLI prem sound card and emachines stock speakers) and wanted to get a brand new system. I was looking at the z2300s and X-fi sound card. I was reading many reviews that said het bass on the z2300s is WICKED high, and mids are nearly non-existant. I love having bass, which is the main reason I'm going for them, but too much bass on EVERYTHING isn't what I'm going for. I am just wondering if there may be controls wit hthe speakers or with the X-fi that can equalize it a bit better?
Getting kind of nostalgic for the old gang from The Audiophile Network, and wondering where that cast of loonies have all gone after the diaspora. I see JA and Dr. Rubinson in here, anyone else?
