Noobie here. I own several pairs of bose speakers. I currently use moderate solid state amps. I'm looking to start a new hobby and tweak a dynaco st-70. When finished, will I have enough grunt to run the bose? Also the misses let me look at my checkbook and OK'D the purchase of 2 Mc2100 from a friend what is the general opinion on these amps?
So there we have it. Best Buy has somehow managed to get their ad (well, not "somehow" since they must have paid for the privilege) on the Stereophile web site. So I guess that means that their complete and utter lack of knowledge of all things audio does not extend to their knowledge of video. Wow, I'm so relived to find this out. Now I know that at least one big box merchant gets at least one thing right!
Okay. So has anyone heard the LFD Zero integrated amp that Sam Tellig calls the best integrated amp he's ever heard? Being a skeptic, I tend not to buy into such talk, but ST was pretty on the money, I thought, when he last lavished such hyperboles and "evil laughs" on an integrated: Pathos Classic... I'm especially keen to hear the LFD, as it seems like it has a fantastic phono stage, & also, ST's review implies that the LFD sounds great with Harbeth speakers.
So, anyone? (echo... echo... echo...)
Hello,
I notice that while I am turning up the volume (either manually or with the remote) on my integrated amp, there is a slight crackle that accompanies the music. It stops when I have completed the volume increase. I haven't noticed this before.
The only things I've changed are connecting my turntable through the Bellari phono tube amp through Aux (previously I connected it directly to the internal phono stage of the amp) and I have upgraded the speaker cable. Or does my amp need a service (it's only about 2 years old -- the Marantz PM 7001)?
Hola,
I just got an email directly from Stereophile! Actually, it was from Stereophile@primediapublications.com. I think they are endorsing a Bybee products thingamajig...
Here's the text of the email:
"To: All Stereophile subscribers and readers
I think you will find the Bybee Golden Goddess Speaker Bullets very amazing.
Before I entered the NYU Silver Center for my Elements of Music class today, I hung my Grado SR60s around my neck. When I got to class, I noticed one of my earpads had fallen off. I let off a pretty audible, "ah fuck." I ran around the room and hallways franticly looking for the missing piece, but I simply couldn't find it. I then sulked for the rest of class. Fortunately, the classroom has a pair of Polk Audio RTi10s which beat any pair of regular classroom in ceiling speakers.
