I bought a demo Thorens TD 170 turntable that came with an Ortofon OMB 10 cartridge....What would be a good tradeup cartridge for a reasonable amount of money. I have not bought vinyl stuff in decades. What should I consider?

I have a recent model iMac and to start me on the road to a "music server" system, I want to do something simple. I have:
1. Just the one computer in the house, on the upper/bedroom level (running iTunes);
2. A modest stereo in family room;
3. The main stereo in basement "music room".

I'm just curious about this speaker manufacturer. I don't see them mentioned much in various forums. Are they simply not highly regarded for particular reasons, or do they simply not market themselves well? Reason I ask is that a local dealer has offered me a pair of GS60's for well below the list price of $4,000USD. He advises that they are selling all of their MA b/c he is having issues w/ the MA rep for his territory, and will no longer be including MA in their product offerings.
