In case you missed it (as I had) I just wanted to add a big +1 to Mikey's recommendation of Arturo O'Farrill's Live in Brooklyn. This is as good as it gets, a live set of some stonking piano jazz beautifully captured in a superb recording. This is a rare treat: great music and demonstration-quality sonics. Reviewer 'Kate Says' on amazon.com says:
I had a wide, high back listening chair (where the back of the chair is the height of my head). A well respected audio engineer came over to my house to listen, and the first thing he said was that I needed a lower back chair so my ears had access to the full audio experience (side and back waves included). It actually sounds much better.
Just though I would pass on that little tip.
Does anyone have any info on constructing portable treatments? My room is small 12 x 10 x 9 and at the majority of the left side of the room consists of windows while the majority of the right side consists of french doors that open to another room. I have a door and window at both of my first reflection points. I'd like to construct something, perhaps on casters, that I could move to those locations for listening sessions.
