Sent my Mastersound Due Venti Integrated in for a repair...a one week turnaround and im back in business. My little Jolida 102B has been a champ(she held down my speakers and whatnot while the big boy was getting operated on), and I am promoting her to center court in my bedroom system(Bryston there currently)...
Those guys are the best. Highly recommended.
So I decided to try cheap first - I ordered a Behringer compact preamp for only $30. It sounds ridiculously cheap, but I can return it if I'm not happy. Pro-jects and NADs are about $130 here in Toronto. I've read mixed reviews of the Behringers. I figured I'll spend the $30 just to try it and if I'm not happy I'll get the NAD. Worst case is I'm out $30.
I may come back here when I get the preamp and try to set up my Technics TT. Any general advice about the TT setup?
Thanks again, everyone.
I'm kind of hoping that the high end HiFi bug DOESN'T bite.
Hi All, I have received, assembled and installed my new Furutech Power cables I am using the existing old double wall outlet while I wait for a new unswitched outlet to arrive from New Zealand (none available in OZ)
Sat down to listen, wondering if I'd blown my cash on a tweak that would do nothing or be such a small improvement that would be hard to detect.......
what a twat
Hi all, first post here. I've been looking for a set of speakers to warm up a kitchen/dining room that is about 12x25'. I was thinking something along the lines of a set of Bose 301's, but after looking online I see that they've fallen out of favor. I just liked the price point and the sound quality so far as I can remember the set we had when I was a kid. What else is out there in the marketplace along those lines and at/around/less-than that price point? Of course I want the best possible quality for the price.
I was recently told by Cary Audio there is a factory software update for my original 306 SACD/CD player. Stereophile had reported tests revealed the players DAC truncated 24-bit to 16-bits. Cary stated the factory software update will fix the truncation problem - BUT - Cary specifically stated after the software update the player will play 24/96 and 24/192 inputs via it's digital input.
I know there are many other sampling rates other than 96KHz and 192KHz. So obviously this significantly limits the high resolution downloads this particular DAC can play.
