It's not just Katrina and Rita that have devastated the lives of musicians in the Gulf Coast area. The state of the economy, a decrease in services for the poor and marginally employed, the shorter attention span of those weaned on TV and computers, and an ever-increasing emphasis on image and effect over substance have all taken a huge toll on Gulf Coast musicians.

Equipment Specs

I would like to request that the magazine consider an article by one of the expert equipment reviewers that helps the reader determine which specs are important and which have much less significance.

I have only been a subscriber since June and while I learn from every issue an occasional article aimed at us 'neophytes' would enhance my enjoyment of your fine magazine.

Also, thank you for your new message boards. They have already provided a nice supplement to your publication.

What are the goals of audiophiles?

A very good friend of mine and an avid audiophile stated his goal, is to tweak and upgrade his system until CD's sound as good as vinyl. As a beginner I'm enjoying the detail, clarity, and imaging that I've gotten so far but I have no real goals. So, does anyone else have goals in mind for their systems?
