Did you discover TacT in your initial research? I am running a system with (modified)the RCS 2.2X preamp and three 2150 amplifiers and it is stunning. Of course I have taken it well beyond stock with mods and I am bypassing all analog crossovers. TacT equipment can also be operated in a much more conventional way.
TacT preamplifiers/room correction units have digital inputs as well as analog (analog is optional). Not sure if they currently offer just a two channel only. They may still offer the 2.0S. They do offer a stereo unit (RCS 2.2X) that also has 0,1,or 2 (user's choice) subwoofer outputs as well. The 2.2X preamp also serves as the crossover between the mains and sub(s).
TacT 2150 amplifiers are actually integrated and will accept digital as well as analog inputs. Analog is an option that requires an extra internal ADC card.
TacT also offers an HT preamp.
The Bryston BP26DA has two coaxial digital inputs. Their DAC option uses discrete, class A op amps and sounds wonderful. I use this (just upgraded the BP25DA to a BP26DA by adding the new MPS-2 power supply) at home with a DVD player as a transport for both music and film. Bryston also has available their new B100 integrated amplifier with the option of adding the DAC.
There are certainly other brands and probably some cheaper solutions as well. I know that Music Hall has an integrated amp called the "Mambo" which has one Coax and one Toslink input. Probably a higher end amp from one of the Japanese companies also has such a feature for less, but may be harder to find in the US. As you have seen, the market is mostly "home theater or nothing" here as far as digital input options go.

Stello DP200 (preamp with upsampling DAC) is another good option. I know a good online dealer. Please contact me privately if you are interested and want dealer contact info.
