I think that I read an interview with him somewhere where he mentioned using hearing aids and he didn't think that affected his ability to remaster things. A little strange if you ask me. Obviously that doesn't take anything away from his work back in the day.

I too would like to see more interviews with producers/engineers of note and with high-end audio designers. One a month of a mix of those would be great!

Mr. Van Gelder is notoriously guarded/private, especially with regards to his recording techniques. Any such interview would fail to produce fruit, I believe.
