Thanks a bunch for the links. Which (free) program to do the burning of a DVD-A with?
This program that I just found creates excellent 24/96 DVD-A copies of downloaded files. I am plying the L'Historie du Soldat just now. Sounds excellent.
This program (Cirlinca's HD Audio Solo Ultra 3.0) costs 65$, but the trial version allows you to burn 5 DVD's before you have to purchase the program.
Thanks again

Honestly this is the best sounding classical piece I've ever heard. Not that i am a fan of Stravinsky (who must have smoked some real badass shit), but because I have never before heard a classical piece this clear and well recorded. I even have a 24/192 DVD-A with Vaughan Williams' "A Sea Symphony" that doesn't sound half as good as this.

Edit:
I just downloaded and burned (in 24/192) the following music, all in supreme quality:
BEETHOVEN Op. 74
The quality of this music is amazing. Play with Winamp now and I am blown away even with my inexpensive Behringer firewire 2496 ADC/DAC.
As I said: The best I've ever heard...
Keld, you dont have to pay for Cirlinca..

Thanks for the links, both to the programs and the music downloads.
I know there's free programs, but I have not yet seen one that works so easily and flawlessly as Cirlinca's. If I were to download a lot, I think I'd pay for it after all. Besides having to mess with ISO files is not my favourite. Then I'd need yet another program to burn those. Thanks a lot anyway
Keld, it is quite simple really...(ISO files)
just get IMGBURN
and off you go. http://www.imgburn.com/ very low resources/footprint. easy!
Thank you. I will give it a try or two
It seems that the Imageburn link directs me to Expressburn which will only burn the ISO file to a cd. In the case of 24/96 flac files this is not correct. They should be burned to a dvd in order to display the full benefit of the resolution. Am I correct?
I've located the correct imgburn program, and have tried burning an ISO file to a dvd, but my player won't recognize it. Seems I am stuck with cirlinca after all.
I am aware your intentions were the best, but sometimes it also pays to look at the program's user-friendliness, which is top of the notch from cirlinca. There's no easier way to make great dvd's. Having to (eventually) pay 65$ wont kill me, but I wait until it is necessary since there isn't that much great music to be downloaded after all. Most of it is weird and unknown, sometimes even extremely expensive and the websites from where to download are often very badly designed.
The Bowers-Wilkins for example site is one of the messiest, most idiotic websites I've ever visited. Downloading tracks takes a war and a lunch break. I am sincerely hoping more good music will show up in hi-rez formats on the web. Some great rock perhaps?
no, you are not correct.
do you actually think I would suggest something without having used it first?? Ive burned hundreds upon hundreds of DVD-As , and DVD-AudioFIle, DVD audio tools are extremely easy. Unless of course you are a retarded ape, then you might have to read a bit!
Cirlinca is ok, but it provides no benefits over the other two tools.
as for availability of good music.
archive.org is full of free high res music. dimeadozen too...
dont know what to say about the error, as all my DVD as (made using the stuff I reccomended) play on all my players.
I was a beta tester for Cirlinca, so ive been using it for several years now.... and it is great, but there are free alternatives that are every bit as good.
I also use my DAW(samplitude v11 pro) to make DVDAs.
so many ways to do it.
