Yep. The forums haven't been stable lately. Someone has to flog Jon Iverson.
Sorry about these problems. Our IT department is aware of it, and they're working very hard to correct it. We share the server with other Source magazines, and high traffic and extremely large files are clogging the system.
I had sent him an email last night with a copy of my screen to let him know what is up. Knowing Jon, he was already on it.
Good job, Jim. Keep that whip-a-crackin'
I been keeping the whip cracking a little quiet, but once our Middle School Football practices start up, out it will come! LOL
About a month to go, but the players had better come in better shape than they were last year. Summer football here in the south at 100 degrees + is not for...well, anybody, really. Can you imagine wanting to play football and NOT being able to do one pull-up (chin-up)? I had a few of those. For a short while. Go figure.
What is one of the NFL player commercials now...the season is actually up to 14 months long...COME PREPARED!
You run a football bootcamp?
I wonder what the average AUDIOPHILE # of pullups is. In my 50's, I can still manage 7 or 8. What do you think the forum average is - about 0.5?
No, but to not come fully prepared these days is just foolish, and very dangerous. High school linemen at 265-300 lbs. This is SEC land. I fear more for a childs safety if he is not in shape. I try and find out who really wants to play this game. It is not for the faint of heart or everyone. Running backs today are the size of the linemen when I played in the 60's. The game is different and much faster. Do not bring a knife to a gun fight: Sean Connery. LOL
I coach football as I am a stickler for conditioning, but I much prefer 1.) baseball and 2.) basketball. But, these Games have changed as well. High school pitchers throwing 90 mph and I have middle school kids dunking the basketball.
It is my refuge from a dismal classroom experience. We are only graduating 50+% or our HS students. It is an embarrassment I am hoping to change as I enter year 2.
I taught Martial Arts as an after school program for a few years and I was amazed at just how completely out of shape so many kids were. They could barely get through the warmups. They were huffing and puffing and almost passing out. I expected that from chubby kids, but I found that the skinny kids were just as out of shape as the heavier ones. What a revelation.
The Play Station rules. Strong thumbs abound!!!!!
Error messages, eh?
I just assumed they were posts by DUP.
Yupper, all kinds of bizzare stuff. I changed my AC line cord on the computer and monitor, thinking it might make it work better, it didn't. But then maybe my computer and monitor just ain't digitally revealing as others.
I remember the opening of the TV show "Third Rock From The Sun" when the planets were all bouncing into one another. I think Jon Iverson was having one of those kinds of days. Me, I'd just pull the plug and do a reboot. Then we would have some fun, hey kids?
I think dup is in the clear...this time!
These instability problems have been occuring for almost two months. Competent IT folks would have cured them by now, or heads would have rolled. High traffic? At this site...LOL. You really believe that???
If I was an advertiser here...cause as a user I bailed long ago!

I only had problems the last couple of days, a;; of which magically disappeared upon my gently fussing.
I'll fuss sooner next time. Promise.
Yep- I get the same thing too- thanks for posting about it- been too busy (or lazy) to remember to mention it.
We share the server with several other Source Interlink magazines. It is not our site or our magazine that is causing the trouble.
I spoke to one of the IT managers on Friday. She was extremely frustrated about the problem, and said she hopes to have it resolved by the end of the month.
Hey, we only bitch because we care.
I just posted a little while ago. I left, returned and tried a dozen times to log in to no avail.
I read a few posts, sometimes waiting as much as 60 seconds for the post to appear after clicking on the subject.
This is what appeared when I finally said screw it!

Yup. I know how frustrating it can be, and I also realize that the problem will turn people away from the forum -- which is why it's so important that we get it fixed. I'll continue to press our IT people. In the meantime, I thank everyone for your patience.
Yes, we all get rewarded for our patience.
Ie, Hendrix has a new album coming out..and to top it off..is going on 'porn film' tour.
I noticed that the "rants and raves" portion is sorted correctly in reverse chronological order. "The Entry Level" does not behave that way. Is there anyone else that noticed this on the above two topic or other topics?
The default setting for all threads within all forums is chronological order, newest to oldest from top to bottom. This can be reversed, however, by clicking the "Last Post" button in the upper right hand corner of the headings bar.
The top three topics in "The Entry Level" do not conform to this rule because I have marked them as "sticky," which means they'll always appear at the top. New posts will appear immediately below them.
Thanks Stephen. Maybe I'm not accustomed to the details, being an infrequent visitor to the forums.
