maybe the emo is just at <0.0075% THD at that certain little frequency and that the musical fidelity is <0.01% from 20-20. maybe the emo is just producing more distortion at higher signal to noise ratio's. hmmm....
i heard once that anything below 0.5% THD is inaudable to the human ear. so maybe the emo would be more attractive because of the better signal to noise ratio. where are you jackfish? what say you?

I long ago stop basing my buying decisions on specs alone. Emotiva has very liberal return policies. Why not try it. Compare it to your MF and decide for yourself.

The Musical Fidelity preamp sounds better. It is one of the best you can buy for under $500 IMO.

I took mine to a friend's house, where he had the other one, and he upgraded to the Musical Fidelity after hearing the difference.
Tests by Bell Labortaories over many years put the threshold for hearing distortion at between 1% and 2 %, so even if those specs were accurate, they would be insignificant.
