Indeed. I read an encouraging news report a few weeks ago, but then heard nothing further. The news item said that Connecticut (where I live) is considering not arresting and jailing pot smokers anymore simply because it costs so much. What a great outcome from the current financial mess!
I don't know the stats, but I bet if every drug user (not just pot) was released from jail today the savings to our legal system would be in the hundreds of million of dollars annually. Same for all the money wasted on arresting hookers and their Johns.
It cracks me up every time Sean Hannity and his ilk thump their chests while proclaiming the US is a great country because of our freedom. To me, real freedom means being able to smoke pot or snort coke or even shoot smack in the privacy of my own home without fear of prosecution.

Likewise, how do they reconcile "Go forth and multiply" with the belief that all sex other than their chosen subset is a sin?
This is the crux of it. It's a Puritan mentality driven by religious belief. If it feels good then it must be a sin. Sheesh. Idiots.

Puff the Magic Dragon, dude!
A friend is someone who will bail you out. A true friend is with you waiting to get bailed out and saying "man did we have a great time".
