My wife Elli is an audiophile with great ears. I met her when I used to teach recording in the 80s and she was a student. Hence no objection to 48 acoustic panels in our living room. But you won't see her posting in audio forums.

Topic begs the question: Why are there so few women audiohiles? There's plenty of women music lovers, but precious few audiophiles. Most women are happy listening to a good boom box. Assuming there is such a thing.
My guess has long been that it's because we glorify the gear instead of the experience.
Mrs Sanford has become an unofficial audiophile. She does know that when I give her something to listen to that it will sound better but how is not of her interest. She is so lucky.
My guess is that, no Laura is not the only female audiophile, but instead is the only one to make the mistake of posting a response to our male, inmature posts.
I guess my wife fits into that category too- she usually hears a given upgrade (even power cables in a blind test) but really doesn't care to know why or how.
I dont think that women, in general care much about gear. they are more concerned with things that matter. They are Smarter, more evolved. Men are stupid.
Stupid is more fun!
Yeah, they realize that we [men] are just a bunch of apes trying to make tools out of bones. At least that is what they think. Go hunting and bring home something to eat. Give it to her and tell her to clean it up for supper. She won't have a clue.
"Men are stupid." Hey, I resemble that remark!
There is "closet" audiophile Cookie Morenco in the latest issue of Stereophile. But, 4 mics on one guitar?! Yikes! To each their own I guess.
that struck me as odd as well. crazy, considering that back int the day, RCA, Mercury and others sometimes mic'd a WHOLE ORCHESTRA AND CHOIR with less than Cookie used on the one guitar. I am a recording engineer as well, so this sort of stuff sticks in my craw.
