It's always nice to meet a fellow cyclist! I'll be back out as soon as I come home from school this Wednesday. Specialized Allez Elite triple (silver), in case you're curious. I'd attend the show, but Michigan is a long way from NYC!
I'll be milling about -- it'd be nice to meet up.
I've got a Serotta but I'm in Chicago!
I want to the show a few years ago and I walked away disappointed. I don't think I'll be attending this year.
Are you planning not to attend this year because of that disappointment a few years ago? What was it about the show that disappointed you?
I'm speaking on the acoustics panel at 6:00 pm Friday, so I'll be there Friday afternoon through closing time. I plan to hang out by the Regency room for at least half an hour before the panel begins. I'd love to meet you all in person.

Yeah, I plan not to attend due to my disappointment a few years ago.
There were a few things that I was disappointed about:
Room acoustics were so bad that you couldn't really gauge the quality of the equipment. Since high end audio is all about the quality rather than features, if you can't gauge it, then it becomes pointless to go.
Some of the rooms were so packed that it was impossible to sit and listen because there were always people coming in and out, talking, etc.
I didn't like demo rooms where they would herd everyone in, do a demo using their own music and usher everyone out. I preferred room where you could actually sit quietly and listen.
Very noisy, too big, hard to find things you're interested in.
Funny enough, I walked into an exhibition room where Ray Kimber was demonstrating this new crossover he was trying to push. He built a pair of speakers that utilized that cross over and that was just wonderful! Everything sang and there was no one in the room except me and Ray's people. I don't think that anything ever came out of it, but to me, that was the only room that was worth going to.
It's been well over five years since Ray Kimber first disclosed the existence of his DiAural crossover. Anyone know what came of it?
As far as I know, nothing ever did. I think it died a quiet death.
One week away!
The show opens to the public tomorrow at 2pm. I'm looking forward to seeing those of you who can make it.
