I am on a tight budget buying a house etc. My wife "loves" the look of the Dynaudio Contours S3.4s, and I love the sound. However, that in itself will eat up a majority of my two channel audio budget (listening room 15ft w 12ft d 9ft h). I need descent amplification to last me a year or so until I upgrade.
My choices:
1. I have an old Adcom 5400II amp. What used preamp from Audiogon should I match with it? Or should I chunk it for better sound?
2.Get the Outlaw RR2150 receiver? Or the Harmon Kardon 3480 receiver? Which would sound better? Remember only temporary, will move to the bedroom after upgrade.
3.Any suggestions?
I hope to uprade to a GCC when the time arrives. The perfect simple two channel setup. Thank you for help.
