Thanks, guys. There must have been something wrong with the Studios, because the Focus did sound at least twice as good. I have also since read that tweeter smearing is a problem with them, which is what I heard. Too bad because a 7.1 Paradigm system would be easier on the pocketbook, and it looks fantastic, but I don't want to sacrifice the power and presence that the Focus have. I'm still listening, got a ways to go. There are a lot of good speakers out there! Rich
Have you checked out the Anthony Gallo reference 3 ? Its a great speaker for under $2500us, and theres an option where you can run an amp to the other coil of the woofer and add more extended bass performance. Its not a large speaker really at all,at 3 feet tall,and its a very interesting design with visual appeal i think. Im considering this speaker myself. Its not alot of money,but it compares to pricier speakers.
