I suppose it was about five years ago. Erica was explaining that some dude had accidentally erased all of the music on her "iPod." This, apparently, was some sort of tragedy. I tried to sympathize. "I can't believe that jerk! Are you alright?" I consoled.

"I don't understand it," I said to John. "With all of these people out there listening to their iPods, how is it that the entire city isn't dancing like mad?"

To tell the truth, I didn't want to come into the office today. Amazing, I know. And it didn't have all to do with the rain and the wind and the unusually cool June air, though those were factors. Mostly, it had to do with a hummingbird. I wanted to stay home and strum the guitar in tune with all those sounds that were happening outside. But I did the next best thing.

I suppose, if he wanted to, Ariel could stop for a bit and take a look into last year, to read of how Kristina Roman saw things — from her lucky charms perspective. It wouldn't be absolutely necessary, but it might prove interesting. I, as you know, enjoy the casual look back.

Every now and then, work infiltrates my dream-life. Deadlines, forum issues, an e-mail I forgot to respond to — these and other things have, at times, disturbed my gentle sleep.

You know how it is when you hear a strange new word for the first time, and then, all of a sudden, you start hearing that strange new word everywhere? Where had that word been for the previous twenty-eight years of your life and why is it surrounding you now?

A couple of nights ago, walking down Madison Avenue, on my way home from work, I had to stop and enjoy this view.

When I mentioned it in our Home Entertainment Show Report, I told readers that Red Wine Audio's iMod was only available to 4th Generation iPods. That was true, at the time. Now, Red Wine Audio also offers their audiophile hardware modification for the newer 5/5.5 Generation iPods. Vinnie Rossi must've been working OT. I hear he has trouble staying away from the office.

If I had perfect memory [God, I would love to have perfect memory!] and could type faster, I'd just transcribe the whole damn thing for you. But, alas, I don't. So, here, I've simply included a couple of the sassy bits, and I'll hope that you take the time to listen to the rest. What it is? It's a Real HT Info podcast — Episode 006 — featuring Michael Fremer.

In their neverending quest to damn my life, Bose is now sending me credit cards. I walked into my beautiful apartment, the sun having already set, threw this and all the other junk mail down onto the kitchen table, and grabbed a beer.

Hey ma.
Remember last week at dinner when you guys asked me, "What's new?," and I stuttered, hesitated, and tried telling you about the Home Entertainment Show?
