The "S-" is for "Super"
I've got so much to write about today, it's really not fair. Instead of taking you in that direction, I'll take you in this:
Things and Things
Having re-read my entry concerning the Attention Screen concert, I realize that it may sound as though I didn't like the performance. This, however, is not the case. I liked it very much. I enjoyed it. I even had a good time.
The Farthest Thing from Perfect
On Saturday night, Don Fiorino, Mark Flynn, Chris Jones, and Stereophile’s Bob Reina came together, within the walls of Merkin Concert Hall, as Attention Screen. I sat in the audience, watching and listening as these four men exchanged ideas, made music. I'm not going to say it was beautiful. I'm not going to say it was interesting.
Mad At the Weather, Mad At the Dust
I'm mad at the weather. It's cold. Colder, in fact, than it should be. This is why I'm mad. If things were just as they should be, I wouldn't complain.
A Reunion Show
When people ask me if I miss it, I'm quick to make a face. My left eye might scrunch up tight, while the right shoots out like a feathered arrow, raising its brow like an exclamation mark. My nose and lips tighten, become wrinkled. Everything about this face expresses some sort of pain, maybe even disgust. Like I've been slapped, like I've just downed a mouthful of sour milk. Do I miss it? Are you out of your mind? What is there to miss: Late nights?; Heavy gear?; Bad crowds?; No crowd?
If 10 Had More Numbers
This isn't exactly the way I submitted it to Tris, but if I created this list again tomorrow, it would again be different. So. My Top 10 of 2006 looked something like this:
