I used DRA Labs' MLSSA system and a calibrated DPA 4006 microphone to measure the Bowers & Wilkins CM5's frequency response in the farfield, and an Earthworks QTC-40 for the nearfield and spatially averaged room responses.
My estimate of the CM5's voltage sensitivity was 87.5dB(B)/2.83V/m, which is within experimental error of the specified 88dB. The CM5 is specified as having a nominal impedance of 8 ohms with a minimum value of 3.7 ohms; fig.1 confirms the specification, and reveals that the minimum impedance occurs at the top of the audioband, where…
